The Other Mozart, One Night Only (3/22/2013)!

We set up a way to get tickets here. I introduced it with a Star Wars reference here. I explained why it's even happening in Auburn here. It got some very good press here and a little more here. Then I posted an update and thanked our terrific sponsors here. Now, in a few hours, Sylvia Milo will perform her one-woman play on the life of Nannerl Mozart. This will happen at 7:30 PM, March 22, 2013, at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art (901 S. College St., Auburn, AL 36849).

If you are on Facebook or Twitter, there is a little "F" and a little "T" at the bottom of this post that you can use to share it to your profile. That will help spread the word.

Seating is first-come, first-served. This next part is crossed out because it was originally in this post as part of the plan, but we've changed it. Doors open at 7:00, and audience can be seated when they arrive. , but due to the way the stage is laid out (mainly, no concealing curtain), we won't seat people until right before the play. If you come early, expect to wait in line, inside where it's warm and dry, of course. When you enter the auditorium, Nannerl will be waiting for you.

The play is about 70 minutes long, and afterwards, there will be a talk-back with the audience featuring Sylvia, director Isaac Byrne, and composer Nathan Davis. After that, join us at Eighth & Rail, one of the play's sponsors, at 807 S. Railroad Ave., Opelika.

Up to a certain point in time on Friday, you will still be able to buy tickets at othermozartauburn.eventbrite.com. If you see that the site is out of tickets, you can call The Gnu's Room (414 S. Gay St.), a co-presenter of the play, at 821-5550. If tickets are still available at the door, we will be able to take cash or check. Admission is $25 general admission, $20 for museum members, and $15 for students with ID.

And, with a $150 donation to the play, you can take home a handmade music box, with three tunes from the play, like the one Nannerl plays on stage. With a $100 gift you can have one with one tune. Click on the pictures below to enlarge. These will be available after the performance.
